Title:Friday 3
August 2001
Date: Friday - 3 - August -
2001 (Milan, Italy)
Friday 3 August 2001 , Milan, Italy
How come, how possible that you start writing after 21 years...wouldn’t
it be too late?
You were coming back home after having had dinner with P. Already
drunk...and...maybe you do not remember anymore... what? Have you learnt
something? Interrupting someone who’s talking is like waking up someone in
the middle of a good dream. While the others are talking, you sail through
yours and theirs thoughts without rest...what are you trying to understand?
The real meaning maybe...but of what then? And above all one answer to one
of the most universal questions: “why”! Come back to reality, in a few hours
you’ll be leaving for holidays! You should be happy! What will you do to
deceive the time? I guess you will be loafing around with somebody, any
friends? ..someone helping you to forget ...
How can you perform thousands loops in your mind without going mad?
How have you reached this point?
You’re a free soul, lively, generous, a person who wakes up early in the
morning... You should start to forget... What happened? You’ll have to walk
the way from scratch, but that’s out of question for you...

Title: The gear of the 4th
floor
Date: x - x - 2000 (Milan, Italy)
The 4th floor’s gear
opening the window during a freezing Milan’s
winter, am still wearing my pajama, my barefoot touch the frozen
balcony’s marble, I reach the railing almost on my tiptoe, many
meters separate me from the ground, sometime I light myself a cigarette,
sometimes I cannot find the time because I immediately get kidnapped by
thousands of thoughts and thousands of questions: I observe the cars
passing by, the people walking on the sidewalk, the trees, the leaves
and any other objects in movement asking myself “why”! What is it
pushing them forth? What kind of engine has been triggered? Is the
engine that moves the leaves same as that which plays the car’s horn?
Are they all gears of the same mechanism perhaps? And what if in this
moment I hamper the mechanism or one of its gears? If I stopped a gear, would I alter the whole mechanism? If not, then
it is not all linked...
On Sunday, on that park bench, a group of boys is holding up ,on Monday
an homeless is holding up , some other days a worker on his lunch break,
on Saturday afternoon a family that brings its children to the park. No
one is holding up on the park bench for the whole week, no one is stuck,
they’re all gears in movement. Then my mind cannot face contrast anymore
the accumulated frozen in all those hours starring at the balcony, so I
re enter my room while all my previous thoughts are slowly disappearing
from my mind, and I also resume myself as a gear, part of the mechanism.
