Travels - Hong Kong

mapHK:
Arrival date: April 2008
Extract: My fourth time in HongKong, I've seen an increasing number of foreigners living in town, I got some new friends and I was hosted by the usual Thai friends for the entire permanence. I.T. prices were not so convenient this year. What a coincidence when I met Michael from Monaco, France by chance, a good friend of Giovanni(Italy) who was trying his luck around the countries where the sun rises. A new opportunity came to knock at my door when Pond heard that I might have wanted to open a beach restaurant somewhere in this world, so she kindly offered me a basic training at her thai restaurant in WanChai: i've learnt how to prepare some cocktails and the basic maintenance of the bar. Unfotunately I had to leave but next time i'll learn the kitchen side, perhaps some cooking :)! Pond and her friends were unchanged over the years and that's what made this last stop so special: they're always very accommodant, patient and kind every time I visit them.

On sunday we went for a trip to the ocean park, where for the first time i saw a panda from live, even if behind a plexiglass it was a noteworth experience, observing that kind of strange bear goffying around and acting like a puppet, the tentation of petting him was high. I also enjoyed a dolphin and seal show and had a look at a very big aquarium.
Couple of times during the night after work, we headed on the other side of HK to watch the laser show in which many of the skycreapers run a special effect light show.

June 2007

mapArrival: 1 June 2007
I passed by Hk for the second time on my way back to Italy and I spent a wonderful weekend in good company with Pond, who has been truly kind, accommodating and lovely, her fancy friends from Thailand which were incredibly cool boys and a new and unexpected encounter from Bangladesh: Fahmida. They all contributed to make my 3 days in town memorable. Pond brought me all around for the entire saturday afternoon, to seek amazing sightseeing and bright sides of the city that made me reevaluate the place.

February 2007

HK:
Arrival date:
5 Feb 2007
Intro: Hong Kong isn't really much beside a trading city, crowded , busy, gosh , not exactly a good place where to end up after you've seen the beauty of those Maldivian Islands and appreciate its tranquility. As always I almost got in to trouble while searching by the HK ghetto for the pirate version of windows vista which was just out in those days: one of the pirate's shop was assaulted by the hongkong customs who immediately closed the shack and seized all the pirate material...one of those officers came to me and said "if i catch you again trying to buy illegal software you'll face troubles.." Ok fuck, let's wait a little bit and surely get it once in China: copyland ! Anyway the city was damn expensive. But they told me some chinese people can live with the same cost of living of their homeland as they know very well where to go how to move around and where to eat. The amazing thing is that whatever time is it, day or night, there are always people walking on the street . One night I couldn't sleep so at 3 o clock a.m. I went for a walk: wow , there were so many shops and restaurants open 24hrs  and people as well walking up and down everywhere.
