Verba volant, scripta manent...
There is an old Latin proverb saying: " Verba volant, scripta manent..." : It means that what we say with our mouth easily flies away, but what we write with a pen, is meant to last. As
long as I can remember, I have always loved writing.
Since middle school: many people were a bit afraid
when an Italian writing test was assigned, instead I was very happy because
I had the opportunity to write what I was thinking, to express my ideas
and my opinions or my stories. The best part was that the
professor had no choice but to read it all till the end, whatever
the content was. Most of the time I was writing things about myself, using
direct thoughts and tough words, but the grammatical part was almost perfect so I have never received a
score below average. Growing up, at the age of my "humanistic" maturation
when I was around 18 years old, I started to feel deep inside the need to write
as firstly I wanted to read back these memories later on in my life and secondly, I wanted my ideas
to be remembered forever. It is in fact the only way to be remembered, to somehow live forever even if only in other people's memories...
